I think that the background, the head and the mane of the lion are exceptionally well done.
The background evokes thoughts of how hot and bright the sahara is while also showing the importance of the shade cast by the large trees.
The lions head and mane are very well detailed and convey the emotions and concepts of thoughtfulness, contemplation, confidence and regality that are inherent in our perception of lions.
There are, however, a few aspects which, in my opinion, detract from the over all quality of this image.
While the head, mane and background are highly detailed the body of the lion lacks this level of detail which means that this is not simply an area of less detail but takes away from the continuity in the level of detail provided for the rest of the drawing.
As well as having less detail, I find that the lines of his body are lighter and less shaded which lessons the contrast between the background and the lion himself thereby making his body indistinct.
The final aspect is that his stomach seems to curve up into his body too much making it far too thin just in front of his rear legs. This ruins the realism created by the detail and skill put into the vast majority of the drawing.

This really is a truly amazing piece of art and you should feel extremely proud to have drawn it, but consistency is just as important as anything else and that is the only thing that I can see that this drawing lacks.
